Oh, Right! Kuenssberg Gave Boris the Script

Oh, right, Laura Kuenssberg has accidentally handed over her interview notes to Boris Johnson—like giving him a cheat sheet. As if interviewing the man was going to need to be scripted more. Naturally, the BBC has decided that honesty—someone probably knew—rather than humiliation is the best policy. Therefore, the interview with Boris, much anticipated by some—but not me—has been scrapped, adding another notch to his list of dramatic exits?

Apparently, Kuenssberg sent her meticulously prepared questions—doubtlessly brimming with hard-hitting, non-fluffy queries to Boris by mistake—quite the “Oops!” moment, as one might say. Of course, Boris must have been thrilled to see his homework in advance, but sadly, this little blunder has nixed the interview entirely. Kuenssberg, bless her, called the whole ordeal “embarrassing and disappointing,” which is British for “I’d like to disappear into a hole right about now.”

The BBC chimed in with a statement, confirming that it has postponed the grilling session—lightly toasting at best—indefinitely. However, Johnson will still be promoting his memoir elsewhere because, of course, the Boris train never stops. Meanwhile, EastEnders fans are rejoicing as their beloved soap opera gets its primetime spot back instead of what would’ve been an interview loaded with evasive answers and hair ruffling.

Kuenssberg will be back on her usual Sunday show, so at least we’ll have that to look forward to—assuming she remembers who she’s supposed to send her notes to—Conservative MPs!
